For this month’s Meet The Team we catch up with Daniel BOWKETT, Business Development Manager, Asia & Europe zone.
What’s your background within Kersia?
I first joined Kersia with one of the numerous acquisitions back in June 2018. Since then, I have managed multiple markets in Europe and Asia with a special focus on the Pig & Poultry business unit. During my time in the industry, I really feel that Kersia has played a special role in developing my knowledge and skills in the industry, which continues to be the case today.
How would you describe your role in 3 words?
Diverse, challenging, rewarding
Talk us through a day in the life of a Business Development Manager R&D at Kersia.
A day in my life is spent actioning various tasks and supporting partners with solutions for complex problems that can be unique to a certain geography or unique in terms of the variables at play. Providing these solutions is one of the things that I find most rewarding, especially when one sees positive developments in the end users’ business performance. The other most rewarding aspect of a day in the life of a Business Development Manager with Kersia is when I’m not working with existing partners, I am researching markets, developing connections, and expanding my network to identify new opportunities and gaps in the market that can deliver positive solutions to all stakeholders. It is fair to say that no two days are the same.
What would you say to someone thinking of becoming a Business Development Manager at Kersia?
I would say to someone joining Kersia as a Business Development Manager the same thing that was said to me formerly; “the silliest question is the one you don’t ask” which translated to me as; building your internal network, knowing the stakeholders, asking questions, and then listening. By doing all these things, opportunities will appear, and the connections needed to exploit those opportunities will already be in place.
