virus: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FMD is caused by a non-enveloped virus part of <em>Aphthovirus <\/em>genus within the <em>Picornaviridae <\/em>family. This virus family also contains Enterovirus such as ECBO (Bovine enterovirus). FMD virus is classified into seven immunologically distinct serotypes: O; A; C; Asia 1; SAT 1; SAT 2; SAT 3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text]<div class=\"ult-spacer spacer-69d1a0e66e3e3\" data-id=\"69d1a0e66e3e3\" data-height=\"20\" data-height-mobile=\"10\" data-height-tab=\"10\" data-height-tab-portrait=\"10\" data-height-mobile-landscape=\"10\" style=\"clear:both;display:block;\"><\/div>[\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]<strong>FMD virus characteristics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Virulence<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>Highly contagious and high morbidity during outbreaks but in fact low mortality constated in adult cattle, young cattle are at more at risk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Symptoms<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Infected animals exhibit fever, lameness, and vesicles (blisters) on the mouth, snout, teats, and feet.
